My Approach
My therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment and relational theories, recognizing the importance of our relationships in shaping how we experience ourselves and the world around us.I take a collaborative approach, tailoring therapy to each individual's unique needs, strengths, and goals. My work pulls from a variety of modalities including: Humanistic theories, internal family systems, somatic based therapy, transformative insight imagery (T.I.I.), mindfulness, and strength based approaches. I have extensive training in play therapy modalities for children and families. I am EMDR trained for those experiencing (C)PTSD and trauma symptoms.
Experiences
I have experiences working with clients across the lifespan and in a variety of settings including psychiatric care, forensic hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, under-served youth, and adults with diverse abilities. With a background in the therapeutic creative arts, I believe in the transformative power of creativity to foster healing, problem solve, and open new pathways for growth.
In the non-clinical world, I have experiences working as a child tutor and nanny.
It is a true privilege to witness my clients' willingness to show up authentically, even in moments of uncertainty and vulnerability. I am continually inspired by the strength, resiliency, and courage of my clients and consider it an honor to witness their journey.
About me
Born and raised in the Midwest I have been fortunate enough to call Chicago home for several years. In my spare time I love to read, craft, explore Chicago with my partner, and cuddle our 3 cats.
As someone who discovered their Queer identity “late in life” I value community and togetherness.
